Due to the current post holder's flexible retirement, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit a passionate person who has delivered high-quality, person-centred services for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead our Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Service Unit within Adult Services. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and modernise services that make a real difference in people’s lives.

About The Role

  • Share the lead and management of a range of day services, respite care, and community-based support for adults with learning disabilities as well as mental health resettlement and community hubs.
  • Drive service improvement and modernisation in line with national agendas such as Valuing People.
  • Ensure services are customer-focused, integrated, and delivered to the highest standards.
  • Manage budgets effectively and ensure resources are deployed efficiently.
  • Build strong partnerships with health, housing, voluntary sector, and other agencies to deliver holistic support.
  • Lead and motivate a large team, ensuring staff are supported, appraised, and developed.

About You

  • A relevant professional qualification in social care, health, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in managing services within social care or health settings, ideally including mental health.
  • Strong leadership skills and a track record of managing change and improving outcomes.
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practice relating to learning disabilities and mental health.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and partnership-building skills.
