Role Overview
A wonderful opportunity has arisen to add to our existing team supporting young people to live semi-independently in York through our supported accommodation offer / Staying Close.
Key Responsibilities
- Support young people across residential and supported accommodation provision, predominantly unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
- Help young people develop a sense of belonging, develop local networks of support.
- Provide support and guidance in developing lifelong independent living skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Commitment to child-centred care, effective communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with children and young people and their families.
- Solution focused.
- Able to use office-based IT and data systems.
- Effective time management skills.
- Commitment to challenge unacceptable, discriminatory practice constructively.
- Able to work out of school hours β for example occasional weekends, evenings, including school holidays.
- Experience of working with children is desirable not essential.
