Looking for a job with variety? The Environmental Protection team seeks a technician to maintain one of the UK\’s largest air pollution monitoring networks and support other Public Protection functions.
You should be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team, mainly outdoors in all weather conditions, often by the roadside. Health and safety awareness is essential.
The role requires excellent record-keeping, numeracy, IT skills, attention to detail, and data management. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, databases, GIS, and content management systems is advantageous. You will also maintain equipment and vehicle checks.
Good communication skills in English are necessary, along with the ability to handle sensitive information. The role may involve investigation and enforcement, including some confrontation.
A full (manual) driving license is required, as you may need to drive occasionally. The job involves walking up to 8 miles daily and carrying equipment, so physical fitness is important.
