Overview
Project Manager – Climate Change role at City of York Council. Hybrid working arrangements are available. The role involves managing a pipeline of climate-change related projects, including new renewable energy generation, heat networks, building retrofit, nature-based solutions and smart energy systems, to support the council’s net zero and climate-ready York ambitions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of the council’s pipeline of climate-change related projects from inception through delivery to post-completion.
- Develop sound business cases and procure and manage suitable technical professionals and contractors to translate the council’s ambitious vision into reality.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to share knowledge, mentor, challenge, and grow in this challenging area.
- Ensure projects align with low-carbon technologies, and deliver value across renewable energy, heat networks, retrofit, nature-based solutions and smart energy systems.
Qualifications and requirements
- Robust project management expertise.
- Knowledge and understanding of low-carbon technologies.
- Experience of business case development and contract management.
Working arrangements and location
Hybrid working arrangements are available. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team. The working arrangements will be determined in collaboration with you during the recruitment process.
