We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Playworker to be based in our After School Club at St Paul’s C of E Primary School.

St Paul’s C of E Primary School is situated close to the centre of the historic City of York. The school offers an engaging and creative curriculum of the highest quality with a family ethos and caring community. The vision is that St Paul’s is a place to belong and that all pupils reach their full potential.

We are looking for an excellent Playworker, who can make a real difference to the lives of the children you are working with by supporting the school with the provision of extended care. The post holder will supervise children, organise activities, set up fun and engaging activities, and work closely with the staff team and parents in our school community.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise children in the After School Club and organise activities.
  • Set up fun and engaging activities and support programme delivery.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and the school community to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
Qualifications
  • Have relevant experience of working with children in the primary years.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A caring attitude.
  • Thorough knowledge of the school’s policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to apply given instructions.
Terms and Conditions

The post and hours are as follows for Monday – Friday, term time only: 12.75 hours per week in After School Club. 3.15pm – 6pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 3:15pm – 5pm.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This post is subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009; shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Disqualification Declaration. Any information supplied will be discussed at interview.
