Alne Preschool Playgroup is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Playgroup Assistant to join our friendly team.
30 hours per week across 3 days, with the opportunity for additional hours. If you may be interested in a part-time arrangement of 15 hours per week, please enquire by emailing kmroe@hotmail.co.uk — we\’d be happy to explore this option with you.
Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare Qualification and a satisfactory enhanced DBS with lists check which confirms suitability to work with children is essential.
Our preschool operates from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, including school holidays.
Main Duties
- To assist with the planning of the curriculum.
- To help set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy up at the end of the session, ensuring that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
- To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
- To advise the pre-school leader of any concerns e.g. over children, child protection, parents/carers or the safety of equipment. Preserving confidentiality as necessary.
- To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
- To be aware of any special needs a child may have and to familiarise oneself with relevant play and learning plans.
- At lunch time to ensure the children’s hands are washed prior to eating and to sit with the children whilst they eat – encouraging social interaction and assisting children as required.
- To ensure that 2 adults remain with the children at all times during the lunch hour as required by Ofsted.
- To attend staff meetings.
- To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families of other staff that is learned as part of the job.
