The Specialist Teaching Team within the SEN team are looking to appoint a Specialist Teacher with experience of teaching to GCSE level to join a committed and dynamic team starting as soon as possible. Teachers in this team promote the development of pupils who have physical and medical health needs (including mental health) within the home and educational or community settings. They deliver home tuition as part of the Local Authorities statutory obligation to provide an education for children and young people aged 5-16 who are out of school due to physical or mental health needs. In addition, the successful candidate will provide advice and guidance to professionals, children and their families to ensure those with physical and medical needs are fully included in their educational setting.

We Are Looking For a Colleague Who:
- Is a successful, qualified teacher with experience of teaching to GCSE and of working with children and young people with SEND, including those with Physical Difficulties and mental health needs.
- Is willing to teach a range of subjects across KS1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Is committed to an inclusive philosophy and practice and is passionate about delivering better outcomes for all children and young people placing the child’s voice at the heart of all decisions.
- Has experience of working collaboratively with colleagues in a range of educational settings, from a range of agencies and of close working with families.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills to liaise and work closely with schools, families and other professionals involved with children and young people.
- Is able to demonstrate skills, experience and knowledge daily in order to work using initiative; as an outreach role the majority of the week is lone working and candidates must be able to demonstrate they can self-manage time and arising problems along with caseload management.
- Is an excellent team player with experience of working in a multi-professional environment.
- Is committed to continuing professional development to keep up to date with national, regional and local issues which affect the education of pupils with physical and health needs.
