Acomb Primary school is looking to recruit a Breakfast Club Assistant to work in our very busy Out of School Club. Qualifications are not essential, however, experience of working with children is.
We have up to 30 children attend the club each morning and we are looking for someone who could help us to provide children with a fun and stimulating environment in our school run club.
Provide high quality childcare and develop a fun, engaging and age appropriate programme of activities for children.
- Ensure the room is always prepared before the session and tidied after use.
- Provide a nutritionally balanced breakfast menu that meets the school food standards and caters for allergies and intolerances.
- Ensure food items are correctly stored, high standards of hygiene maintained and children's dietary requirements are catered for.
- Engage older children with preparing food - following safety and hygiene requirements.
- Liaise with parents/carers on a daily basis.
- Follow all school policies and procedures regarding safeguarding and health and safety including sign-in and out procedures, maintaining accurate daily attendance registers and reporting absences and unbooked arrivals to the school office manager.
- Ensure that first aid and intimate care incidents are recorded in line with school policies.
- Deliver activities across the week for the whole age range - with support from the EYFS team this should include activities that fit in with the principles of the EYFS curriculum.
- Ensure any issues are reported to the correct person in school appropriately - eg to the DSL for safeguarding, class teachers for behaviour issues or the school office for injuries or accidents.
- Gather pupil feedback on the club regularly in order to continuously develop the out of school club.
We are a popular, friendly school. We have great pupils, a hardworking and dedicated staff team and a supportive local community. We are looking for a new member of staff to join our Out of School Club team from September 2026.
