This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team to ensure the Mansion House successfully operates as a heritage visitor attraction and events venue. As part of a small team you will ensure the Mansion House is ready for opening to the public as a heritage visitor attraction and a venue for events; this will include making sure the reception, health & safety, security and cleanliness procedures of the Mansion House are followed while the building is open to the public for events and private hire.
The role is customer focussed, and you will be expected to provide a professional welcome to all visitors and ensuring the reception is clean, tidy and merchandise stocked and taking card and cash payments. You will be expected to learn the history of the building and its collections and provide public demonstrations of historic cooking, lead guided tours and interpret the collection/history for visitors. You will be based at the Mansion House and two 18.5 hours positions are available. This post is suitable as a job share opportunity.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
