The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs within the Cherry Blossom SEND provision, ensuring they thrive academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals and small groups under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress and feed back to teachers and leaders.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
  • Lead targeted intervention programmes, including phonics, handwriting and social/emotional support.
  • Provide specialist support for pupils with additional needs such as autism, speech and language needs and SEMH.
  • Model and support positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Contribute to planning meetings, share assessment information and help shape next steps for pupils.
  • Support and guide other teaching assistants or volunteers where appropriate.
  • Contribute to wider school life, including enrichment opportunities and school initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
  • Calm, nurturing, and able to build strong relationships with children and families.
  • High expectations for all pupils and commitment to inclusive practice.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also showing initiative and independence.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Reflective, adaptable and keen to continue developing professionally.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Hours: 8:00 am–12:30 pm each day, 4–5 mornings per week (18–22.5 hours per week, respectively).
  • Temporary position from 1 Sept 2026 to 31 Aug 2027, with potential for continuity and progress to TA5 apprenticeship and further professional development.

Required Checks and Declaration

  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
  • Completion of a Disqualification Declaration (Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009).
