The Highways Maintenance Inspector will be part of the Highway Asset Management Team, acting as the Local Highway Authority within the City of York Council highway boundary. The role involves carrying out highway inspections and ensuring the highway network remains safe for the travelling public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of the city network by driving and walking to identify defects.
  • Use electronic systems to survey and record actionable defects.
  • Issue works orders for identified defects.
  • Coordinate with Operational Repair Gangs and Site Agents to rectify defects.
