Do you have a HGV/LGV licence (Class II) or are you a newly qualified HGV/LGV Driver? Do you have a Driver CPC qualification? Are you available immediately?
We require a driver with a current HGV/LGV licence (no driving work experience necessary). In this role, you will stay with a stationary HGV vehicle in the town centre whilst your colleagues load it, and you will empty the vehicle at a designated waste station several times per day. You will drive and operate a waste collection vehicle using safe and efficient driving techniques in line with the clients’ requirements.
As a LGV/HGV driver, you will assist in the provision of an effective and efficient waste collection and disposal service across the city centre, observing health and safety requirements and being responsible for ensuring members of the public are kept safe.
You will work a variety of shifts between 5am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday (37 hours a week). This is a temporary role for a minimum of 6 weeks, with the potential for additional driving work after this time. Pay rate for this role is £14.72 per hour.
You Will Need
- Driver CPC Qualification
- Full Category C Driving Licence
- Class 2 Driving Licence
- A Digital Tachograph Card
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
- Previous experience with waste or recycling would be an advantage although the client will offer in-house, on-the-job training and instruction on the various vehicles they operate in their fleet.
