The City of York Council is seeking a self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and hard‑working Welfare Benefits Adviser to support benefit take‑up. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and evaluate innovative approaches to assist people with low income in maximizing income and managing their finances sustainably.
The dedicated adviser will work with individuals with low income to review their overall situation, maximise income, and create sustainable money‑management plans. A key element of the role is to assess which activities are effective, identify areas for improvement, and incorporate lessons learned into ongoing services. Advisers will provide up‑to‑date social welfare information and advice to the public via telephone, online, and face‑to‑face interactions, in accordance with approved quality standards and responsible for the effective delivery of advice services.
