We are expanding our Transport Projects team and are seeking 4 Assistant Project Managers to help deliver improvements that make a real difference in our city. Key Responsibilities
- Support the work and delivery of a diverse and exciting portfolio of transport projects, reporting to a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager.
- Active travel programme.
- Continued rollout of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Expansion of park and ride sites.
- Complex road safety improvement projects and school streets.
- The council’s largest major roads project – York Outer Ring Road Dualling.
- Provision and delivery of a high‑quality, client‑responsive service.
Career Path
Start at Grade 8, with a clear pathway to Grade 9 once progression criteria are met. Experienced Assistant Project Managers who already meet Grade 9 criteria can join directly at that level.
Requirements
- Demonstrated competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public in spoken English at CEFR level C1.
- Ability to work in a public‑facing role.
