We are delighted to be offering this exciting opportunity to join our talented, experienced and supportive Educational Psychology team in the beautiful and historic city of York. Our team of qualified and trainee Educational Psychologists (EPs) has increased in size over the last 12 months. In response to the SEND reforms and Experts at Hand model we are looking to expand further. These four new Assistant Educational Psychologist posts are an opportunity to join a forward thinking and progressive team at an exciting time and contribute to York being a place where children and families belong and thrive. Our Educational Psychology Service is highly regarded by schools, settings and families and we are developing strong relationships with other professionals working within York. We have links with a range of doctoral training providers, including the Universities of Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham.

About the Role

As an Assistant Educational Psychologist in York, you would be working in a neighbourhood within a needs‑led service model that supports a graduated approach, with a focus on early intervention and providing high quality assessments across the 0‑25 age range.

Requirements

  • Hold an Honours degree in Psychology
  • Have gained at least one year of recent and relevant experience working with children, young people and families
  • Full and valid driving licence; use of a car desirable
  • Demonstrate competency to converse and provide advice and guidance in spoken English to CEFR level C2 (Fluency Duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016)
  • Pass a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
