The main purpose of a Senior Practitioner is to ensure high quality professional practice, leading by example and effectively providing management supervision to direct reports, guaranteeing CYC Adult Social Care objectives and statutory duties are met and positive outcomes for people are supported.
This will involve supporting staff to complete strength based conversations with people in the community, thinking creatively and flexibly to work with them to meet their identified goals.
The team aims to promote the “Prevent, Reduce and Delay” agenda (as outlined in the Care Act 2014) and supports people to develop and maintain independence and confidence.
As part of the role, you will liaise with a wide variety of professionals within the statutory, voluntary and community sectors and will also be expected to manage the duty rota and allocate work to staff.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

We require the successful candidate to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
