After School Club Assistant – Rufforth Primary

Rufforth Primary is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, team‑player to assist the After School Club staff. You will work within an agreed system of supervision to plan, implement and run a care and activity programme for children during term time.

Key responsibilities include creating engaging activities, supporting children’s development, maintaining a safe environment and contributing to the club’s overall quality.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience working in a school or childcare setting.
  • Understanding of child development and learning.
  • Knowledge of how children enjoy learning and have fun.
  • Level 2/3 play worker qualification is an advantage but not essential.

All staff and volunteers must share a commitment to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people. A DBS enhanced check and a Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009 declaration will be required.

Contract: Permanent Term‑time. Four days a week, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. term time only, with eight hours per year allocated for training. Working hours may be flexible.
