Copmanthorpe Primary School are seeking a highly organised, friendly and proactive School Administrator / Receptionist to join our busy school office team. This is a key front-of-house role providing essential administrative, clerical and reception support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school. You will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff, playing an important part in creating a welcoming and professional school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admin and secretarial support to school staff and Headteacher
  • Act as first point of contact at reception, answering calls and welcoming visitors
  • Maintain records, attendance data and school information systems
  • Produce letters, documents and reports using IT systems
  • Assist with pupil welfare, first aid and school trips/events
  • Handle routine clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying and post

About You / Requirements

  • Good IT, communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work accurately and maintain confidentiality
  • Friendly, professional and calm in a busy environment
  • Willing to support across different areas of the school
  • Experience in a school or admin role is desirable but not essential

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009 and as such shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Disqualification Declaration. Any information supplied will be discussed at interview.

12.5 hours per week – to include at least 4 mornings from 08:45am. Exact plan to be discussed at interview. Suggested Hours: Mon – Fri 08:45am – 11:15am or Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri – 08:45 – 11:45am. Please note that holidays cannot be taken during term time.
