Lead prevention, partnership working and housing support across Wolverhampton.
We're transforming the way residents access housing support and homelessness prevention services across Wolverhampton. As part of our newly developed Housing Advice Service, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Housing Partnerships and Support Team Leader to lead a team delivering housing support, early intervention and partnership-based services to residents facing complex challenges.
This is an opportunity to lead a service that sits at the heart of homelessness prevention, safeguarding and multi-agency partnership working, helping residents sustain accommodation, access the right support and improve their independence and wellbeing. The role includes working closely with key safeguarding and public protection arrangements, including MARAC, MAPPA and wider multi-agency risk management processes, ensuring effective partnership responses for some of the city's most vulnerable residents.
About the Role
As Housing Partnerships and Support Team Leader, you will:
- Lead, supervise and develop a team delivering housing support and prevention services.
- Promote an early intervention approach that helps residents remain safely housed and prevents homelessness wherever possible.
- Provide oversight and support for complex cases involving safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse, exploitation, self-neglect, vulnerability and multiple disadvantage.
- Work closely with Housing Advice & Solutions, Temporary Accommodation, Adult Social Care, Children's Services, Health partners, Community Safety and voluntary sector organisations.
- Coordinate multi-agency responses and support pathways for residents with complex housing, support and independence needs.
- Represent Housing Services within partnership forums, including MARAC, MAPPA and other risk management and safeguarding arrangements.
- Support effective risk assessment, decision-making and escalation processes across the service.
- Monitor performance, quality, outcomes and workload management to ensure residents receive an effective service.
- Help shape and develop new approaches to prevention, partnership working and housing support.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive culture where staff feel valued, empowered and able to thrive.
The Difference You’ll Make
You could be leading responses that help:
- Prevent homelessness for residents with complex support needs.
- Improve outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse.
- Support residents leaving hospital or accessing care and support services.
- Reduce safeguarding risks through coordinated multi-agency interventions.
- Help vulnerable residents maintain their independence and housing stability.
- Strengthen partnership working across housing, health, social care and community safety services.
This is a role where strong leadership, professional curiosity and effective partnership working can have a significant impact on people’s lives.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about prevention, safeguarding and delivering excellent services for residents. You will have:
- Experience within housing, homelessness, housing support, social care, safeguarding or a related service.
- Experience of leading, supervising or developing staff.
- Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and managing complex situations.
- Strong partnership-working skills and the ability to build effective professional relationships.
- Experience of working within, or alongside, multi‑agency safeguarding and risk management arrangements.
- The ability to make sound decisions, manage risk effectively and maintain a focus on resident outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.
- A commitment to person‑centred, trauma‑informed and strengths‑based practice.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can inspire others, lead through change and work collaboratively to improve outcomes for residents.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a newly established service at a time of significant transformation. In return, we offer:
- The opportunity to influence and develop a new prevention‑focused service.
- A varied and rewarding leadership role.
