Casual Library Shelvers play a crucial role in our library services by ensuring books and other resources are properly shelved and accessible to our customers.
Responsibilities:- Sort and shelve library resources correctly using the Dewey Decimal Classification System and alphabetical order.
- Assist in maintaining a neat and welcoming library space.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Reliability and ability to follow instructions.
- Capability to work independently.
- Physical ability to perform required tasks as this role will require you to stand for periods of time, use trolleys and place items on library shelves.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Regular refresher training and performance reviews.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Approximately 1-2 shifts per week.
- Shift duration: 1-2 hours.
- All City of Ryde Libraries (Top Ryde, West Ryde, Eastwood, North Ryde and Gladesville).
- Age-related casual hourly rates starting from $17.90 (includes 25% casual loading).
- No paid sick leave or annual leave as this is a casual position.
