The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial operations of the City of Portsmouth, providing strategic financial leadership and ensuring the fiscal health of the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing financial strategies

Qualifications:
- Expertise in Financial Planning and Finance, with the ability to develop and implement effective financial strategies
- Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
- Strong Analytical Skills to assess financial data and provide actionable insights
- Comprehensive understanding of municipal finance, budgeting, and compliance requirements
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with city staff, stakeholders, and elected officials
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred)
- Extensive experience in public sector finance or a related field is highly desirable
