About the role
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Plumber to join our Estates team. The Plumber will be responsible to the Estates & Facilities Quality and Compliance Manager and will play a key role in providing high-quality customer service throughout our Campuses. This will include carrying out preventative maintenance, responsive repairs, all statutory and planned maintenance tasks and minor works, and ensuring our facilities remain reliable, compliant and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform statutory and planned maintenance tasks.
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems (water, gas, drainage).
- Diagnose and repair plumbing faults.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, (when required).
- Work collaboratively with the wider Estates team, staff and contractors to support maintenance, repairs and project work.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and audit requirements.
- Promote high standards of health and safety, including compliance with legislation, guidance.
- Ensure safe and efficient use of all machinery, materials and tools used in connection with job role and follow safe working practices at all times.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven experience in plumbing maintenance, ideally within a commercial or live public sector environment.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements for plumbing systems (e.g., Legionella testing, water regulations).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Evidence of commitment to professional development.
- A good standard of Maths and English.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
