Salary: £18,148.98 - £26,579.21 (21 hours)/£24,198.64 - £35,438.94 (28 hours) Actual Salary, £30,248.30 - £44,298.68 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 21 - 28 hours/0.6 - 0.8 hours per week (inclusive of teaching and prep time), 52 weeks per year, Permanent

About the role

The Lecturer in Health and Social Care is responsible to the Curriculum Manager for providing high-quality teaching and learning, pastoral and academic support and programme leadership that will enable the College to meet these broad objectives. Team working and communications within an overall approach that values people will be of key importance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes.
  • Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area.
  • Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Health, Social Care or a relevant area.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Ability to meet targets within set timescales.
  • Ability to work well in teams but also to work independently, with the minimum of supervision.
  • Proficient and confident using digital systems and communication tools, particularly Microsoft Office.
