About the Role
As a Lecturer in English, your role will encompass designing and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to curriculum development. You will stay updated with the GCSE English Language curriculum to ensure relevant and up‑to‑date teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver English functional skills and GCSE qualifications to 16‑19 year‑old construction and vocational learners across Highbury and North Harbour campuses, including students with high needs and SEN.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve skills and achieve learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, programme development, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Represent COPC with the utmost professionalism in every interaction.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes diversity, equality, and respect.
To Be Successful
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Problem‑solving abilities to resolve issues independently or collaboratively.
- Previous experience in a similar role or substantial background within English (including GCSE).
- Ability to manage behaviour and set high expectations for students.
- English qualifications are a must.
- Level 5 Certificate in Education or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
