Salary: £30,248.30 - £44,298.68 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 28 to 35 hours per week (inclusive of teaching and prep time), 52 weeks per year, Permanent

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our business teaching team. The business learning area offers a range of vocational and academic programmes at Level 2, Level 3, and T levels with teaching at our Highbury Campus. A successful candidate would be working collaboratively within the business team to teach and assess on a range of business topics and programmes, including management, administration, marketing, finance, and HR; provide high quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of our diverse student cohorts; actively contribute to the development and delivery of a high quality, responsive business curriculum, and programmes; provide flexible assessment opportunities, realistic and relevant to the business sector, in line with current industry standards; closely plan and be accountable for monitoring, tracking, and recording student retention, progress, achievement, and success; contribute to and maintain quality assurance of the programmes delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • To teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes.
  • Curriculum Development responsibilities include:
    • Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area
    • Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you

  • Educated to degree or appropriate trade level in specific subject area
  • Appropriate teaching qualification, or willingness to undertake
  • Appropriate Assessor/Verifier qualification, or willingness to undertake
  • Teaching experience, or an understanding of the role of a teacher and the professional responsibilities
  • Relevant and up to date industrial and/or subject related experience
  • Experience of delivering teaching/training in a diverse environment
