Hours of work: 37 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year, Full-Time

About the role:
The Internal Auditor provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and improve the effectiveness of the college’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes. The role supports the college in achieving compliance with regulatory requirements, including the ESFA, Ofsted, Apprenticeships, and funding body expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver risk-based internal audit assignments in accordance with the annual audit plan.
- Review processes and controls across all funding streams, operational, compliance and governance areas relevant to an FE college.
- Prepare high quality audit reports with clear findings, recommendations and agreed action plans.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation.
- Provide advice and guidance on best practice in risk management and control frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to foster understanding and ownership of audit outcomes.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
- Strong understanding of ESFA funding methodologies for Apprenticeships and Further Education (AEB, 16-19 Study Programmes, etc.) and tools.
- Experience with FE Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Evidence of commitment to professional development
- A good standard of Maths and English
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
