About the role

Lead the operational delivery of a diverse multi-campus estate, creating safe, compliant and inspiring environments that enhance learning, teaching and the student experience. You'll provide leadership, driving continuous improvement, overseeing maintenance and capital projects, and ensuring excellence in statutory compliance across the College. The Head of Operations leads and develops the Campus Managers, the Estates Coordinator, the Health & Safety team and the central trades team; owns the coordinated delivery of the College's capital and maintenance programme; and assures health, safety and statutory compliance College-wide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a multi-campus estates and facilities teams to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality environments that support an outstanding student and staff experience.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of capital, refurbishment and maintenance programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
  • Translate strategic estate priorities into effective operational plans, providing expert leadership and coordination across the College estate.
  • Drive a culture of health, safety and compliance, ensuring robust risk management, business continuity and statutory compliance across all campuses.
  • Manage estates budgets, procurement and contract performance to deliver value for money, operational excellence and efficient resource allocation.
  • Champion sustainability, quality improvement and people development, fostering a high-performing and inclusive operational culture.

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you

  • Experience within a senior leadership role of an estates, facilities or operations function across multiple sites
  • Ability to travel between sites
  • Evidence of commitment to professional development
  • A good standard of Maths and English
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
