About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our business teaching team as a sessional lecturer. This flexible position supports the consistent and successful delivery of a range of business programmes including both vocational and academic programmes at Level 2, Level 3, A Level, and T level, across our Highbury and Sixth Form Campuses.
A successful candidate will work collaboratively within the business team to teach and assess across a range of business subjects and programmes, including management, administration, marketing, finance, and human resources. They will provide high-quality learning opportunities that are responsive to the needs of our diverse student cohorts and actively contribute to the development and delivery of a dynamic, industry-relevant business curriculum.
The role also involves designing flexible and realistic assessment opportunities that align with current industry standards. Additionally, the successful candidate will take responsibility for closely planning, monitoring, tracking, and recording student retention, progress, achievement, and success, while also contributing to and maintaining the overall quality assurance of the programmes delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- To teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
- To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
- To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes, through supporting the creation of planning documentation and teaching resources.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
- Degree in Business or related subject areas, or vocational experience of the business sector.
- Post-graduate Teaching Qualification (or willing to undertake studies towards a PGCE. Full support from the College will be given for this).
- Experience planning, delivering, and assessing business programmes is desirable.
- Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional updating and development, both in the business sector and teaching profession.
- A professional approach with a commitment to excellence and quality.
- An excellent communicator, supportive and co-operative team member.
- Commitment to setting high standards, expectations, and aspirations for both self and learners.
