Job Type: Up to 35 hours per week, up to 52 weeks per year. Casual/Variable Hours. This is a Sessional post with no fixed hours attached to the post.
About the Role: The Automotive Department is a thriving and successful department forming part of our Highbury campus and vocational provision delivering Level 1 to Level 3 light vehicle maintenance qualifications alongside Level 1 - 3 Electric Vehicle awareness. We also have a fast-growing and positive apprenticeship programme for level 2 and level 3. This is a Sessional post. There are no hours attached to this post.
Key Responsibilities:
- To teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
- To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
- To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes.
Curriculum Development responsibilities include:
- Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area.
- Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 or higher in Automotive.
- Good understanding of IMI qualification and apprenticeship standards.
- Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- To hold an Assessors qualification and ideally an IQA (IQA not essential, but willing to work towards).
- Ability to meet targets within set timescales.
- Ability to work well in teams but also independently, with minimum supervision.
