About the role: This role will be responsible for assisting the Senior Management Accountant in preparing the Colleges Management Accounts and Financial Statements within the Finance team to service a multi-campus College. Responsibilities will include financial analysis and updating and reporting the Colleges expected forecast outturn through effective Finance Business Partnering. This role will also be responsible for providing assistance regarding budgeting, cash flow management and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly Management Accounts, including month-end processes and postings.
- Contribute to effective cash flow management, forecasting, and financial reporting, including capital expenditure.
- Deliver finance business partnering support to budget holders across income, pay, non-pay, and capital budgets.
- Assist with the Colleges budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the production of financial statements, statutory returns, and papers for governors.
- Maintain robust financial controls, regulations, and procedures, and support internal and external audits.
- Contribute to the effective use of the Finance System and provide wider departmental and ad-hoc support as required.
- Provide support to the RCCP process by completing the financial analysis of any proposed restructures.
- Complete a review of end of month payroll and track to RCCP and Establishment.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
- Minimum part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, CCAB or equivalent).
- Evidence of commitment to professional development
- A good standard of Maths and English
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
