Job Title: Associate Lecturer in Automotive

Salary: Actual salary Pro Rata depending on hours, £29,074.42 – £42,579.53 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Job Type: up to 35 hours per week, up to 52 weeks per year, Casual/Variable Hours

About the role:

The Automotive Department is a thriving and successful department forming part of our Highbury campus and vocational provision delivering Level 1 to Level 3 light vehicle maintenance qualifications along side Level 1 – 3 Electric Vehicle awareness. We also have a fast growing and positive apprenticeship programme for level 2 and level 3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes. Curriculum Development responsibilities include:
  • Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area
  • Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • Level 3 or higher in Automotive
  • Good understanding of IMI qualification and a good understand of apprenticeship standards
  • Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards
  • To hold and Assessors qualification and Ideally an IQA (IQA not essential, but willing to work towards)
  • Ability to meet targets within set timescales
  • Ability to work well in teams but also to work independently, with the minimum of supervision
