Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design-build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.
As an Orbital Welder, you will be responsible for setting up and operating orbital welding machines to perform precision welding on pipes and components. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in orbital welding, including machine setup, troubleshooting, tacking and fitting, and executing high-quality welds on a variety of materials.
Experience Required: 3+ years of orbital welding experience (machine setup required)
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift
Key Duties:
- Program and calibrate orbital welding equipment according to project specifications and materials.
- Operate orbital welding machines to create consistent, high-quality welds.
- Inspect and prepare materials for welding, including cleaning and aligning components.
- Weld pipes ranging from small bore to larger diameters, ensuring precision and quality.
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) or visual inspections to ensure weld integrity.
- Work with stainless steel, carbon steel, and other materials as needed.
- Perform inspections on welds and ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on orbital welding equipment.
- Collaborate with the fabrication and installation teams to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
- Perform work outside of orbital welding (may include other welding, labor, etc.) when project specifications or material availability allow.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in orbital welding, including machine setup and operation.
- Proficiency in programming and operating orbital welding machines.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, stainless steel, etc.).
- Strong ability to troubleshoot welding equipment independently.
- Familiarity with welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Ability to lift and move equipment or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
