The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.
You will be part of our Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeping Service, managing and allocating referrals for support needs, managing the day-to-day work of the team whilst maintaining a strong focus on quality, outcomes and strength-based practice while working at pace. Working alongside colleagues in Rough Sleeping, Homelessness Health and our Pathways Team, as well as a wider multidisciplinary service including Social Workers and Strengths-Based Practitioners, you will work closely with commissioned providers and internal partners to ensure coordinated, safe and effective support for those supported by the City.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess referrals, allocate case work to officers and support the development of individualised support plans which are time limited to promote independent living and tenancy sustainment.
- Make arrangements for homeless people, and those threatened with homelessness, including the use of temporary accommodation where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with commissioning and health partners.
- Champion anti‑racist, anti‑oppressive and inclusive practice.
About You
You will be an experienced Tenancy Support or Housing Officer with knowledge of the Housing Act, the Homelessness Reduction Act, and Universal Credit, as well as experience of supporting vulnerable service users in the community.
Required Skills and Experience
- Sound knowledge of Homelessness and Housing legislation, statutory duties and the ability to deliver information, advice and guidance.
- Commitment to strengths‑based and person‑centred practice.
- Confidence working across organisational boundaries.
- A reflective, resilient and compassionate approach to working with vulnerable people.
- Openness to innovation and change.
