The City of London Corporation is at the heart of the UK’s global financial and professional services (FPS) ecosystem. As technology and innovation reshape the sector, we work with industry, government and regulators to ensure the UK remains a world‑leading centre for FPS innovation.

We’re looking for a Senior Policy and Innovation Adviser to join our Tech & Innovation team on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover, supporting the adoption of emerging technologies across the UK FPS sector. In this role you’ll help drive innovation in areas such as fintech, AI and cyber, contributing to existing programmes and leading the development of new, high‑impact projects. You’ll work closely with partners across industry, government and the innovation ecosystem to remove barriers to growth, accelerate collaboration, and promote UK innovation both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver innovation projects that enhance the UK’s position as a global FPS innovation centre.
  • Develop and manage partnerships across FPS, tech, government and regulators.
  • Provide expert policy insight on FPS technology including fintech, AI and cyber.
  • Produce high‑quality research, reports and briefings for senior stakeholders.
  • Represent the City of London Corporation externally at events, panels and stakeholder meetings.
  • Contribute to team strategy and identify opportunities for new innovation initiatives.
About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience working in the UK tech sector (particularly fintech, AI or cyber) or UK financial and professional services.
  • A strong track record of delivering complex projects and managing multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, with experience briefing senior stakeholders.
  • Confidence building and maintaining relationships across business, government and regulators.
  • The ability to influence and collaborate in complex policy and organisational environments.
