Guildhall School of Music & Drama is seeking two Recording & Audio Visual Engineers to join our Digital, Production & Venue Support department. This role supports exceptional students, staff and visiting artists across music, drama, production arts, recording, broadcast, livestreaming, and digital content.

Responsibilities

  • Record Atmos‑native session orchestra and big band amplifications.
  • Vision mix classical performances and film drama work.
  • Edit student outputs, master portfolio material and prepare digital content.
  • Deliver live and digital projects across Guildhall’s venues, studios and teaching spaces.
  • Maintain and operate SSL and Neve‑equipped studios, Dolby Atmos systems, TV studio, camera, grip inventory and high‑quality microphones and speakers.
  • Respond to evening, weekend and overtime requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a sound, studio, mastering engineer, vision mixer, camera operator, broadcast technician or AV specialist.
  • Strong technical judgement, curiosity, generosity and calmness under pressure.
  • Commitment to high standards and supporting outstanding creative work.
  • Desire to broaden technical practice across sound, video, recording, broadcast and live performance.
