Role and Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for leading the specialist BA (Hons) Production Arts: Stage Management Pathway as a member of the Production and Design management team.
- Preparing, delivering and assessing course materials for the pathway.
- Contributing to the development, delivery and assessment of Production and Design programmes and School productions/projects.
- Line-managing teaching staff and controlling budgets as appropriate.
- Maintaining up-to-date industry practice knowledge and a commitment to Health & Safety and inclusive practices.
You will have extensive industry experience that demonstrates continued high standing in the profession. You will also have experience of working in higher education settings, an understanding of the needs of students in a complex learning environment, and the ability to represent your discipline in the public domain through professional or industry sector engagement, consultancy and/or research (which could include practice-based research).
Department Context
The Production and Design Department is responsible for BA Production Arts, BA Performance Design and MA Collaborative Performance Making; a series of short courses and outreach activities; and extensive production activity in the School’s programme of public-facing performances and events. We work closely with other departments at Guildhall and with external and commercial partners. Students learn through workshop-based activities, study and intensive production practice, and develop their own interests and creative agency through independent projects. The Department is values-led and promotes diversity, inclusivity and sustainable practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teaching in the area of specialization. You will be organized, able to meet deadlines and manage your own workload. You will have up-to-date knowledge of industry practice and Health & Safety and a commitment to promoting safe working and inclusive practices.
