The role is critical to delivering the City Corporation’s strategic objective of attracting, retaining and growing businesses and investment within the Square Mile.Working alongside the City Business & Investment Director, the postholder will lead the Unit's stakeholder engagement, intelligence, proposition, governance and performance functions, ensuring a coordinated and evidence-led approach to supporting business attraction, retention and investment across the Square Mile.Key responsibilities• Lead the development and implementation of the City’s business and investment proposition, translating corporate priorities into compelling programmes, partnerships and engagement activity.• Oversee governance and performance frameworks, ensuring effective planning, reporting, risk management and accountability across a complex portfolio of activity.• Build and maintain influential relationships with senior business leaders, investors, occupiers, developers, elected Members, government bodies and strategic partners.• Support the Corporation to influence policy, respond to market trends and strengthen the City’s reputation as the world’s leading business and financial centre.• Deputise for the CBIU Director, providing leadership resilience, senior representation and continuity across the Unit.About youWe are looking for an experienced strategic leader with the judgement, credibility and stakeholder management capability to operate effectively in a high-profile and complex environment.
