Chetham’s School of Music is seeking 2 new Residential House Assistants to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is the UK’s largest specialist music school, home to the oldest library in the English-speaking world and a world-class concert venue in the heart of Manchester.

We are looking for 2 new House Assistants to join the boarding section of the pastoral team to assist with the day-to-day care and boarding routines of the students. The role could involve working with senior students aged 14-18 or junior students aged 8-13. The working week is around 35-40 hours divided into day or evening shifts, including some weekend work. The role is residential, and accommodation is available all year round. The role is expected to commence in full from September 2026, with the possibility of extra work in early August subject to required clearance checks.

You will be paid £12.71 per hour for weekday hours and £14.91 per hour for weekend hours. Benefits include free catered meals during term time, on-site gym and free tickets to selected concerts.
