We are seeking an experienced and imaginative costume and props mistress/master to support our ambitious drama provision and to play a strategic role in the development of our costumes and resources. The post-holder will support productions by the drama department and the PE department as required.
Alongside supporting productions, the post-holder will lead on logging, cataloguing and maintaining stock, with the long-term aim of establishing a costume and props hiring/loaning facility for internal and potential external use. The role also includes running a student costume design club, nurturing creativity, practical skills and industry awareness.
This role is offered as a 1 year fixed term contract, term time only with the potential for up to two additional weeks in the holiday periods. This role typically requires a time commitment averaging approximately three days per week. However, flexibility is essential, as additional hours will be required during busy production periods and exam times. This may include evening and occasional Sunday work. In recognition of these peak periods, time off in lieu can be taken during quieter periods, subject to prior agreement.
The starting salary for this role is £32,110 (pro-rata dependent on hours) per annum, inclusive of London Weighting.
