About The Team: The City of London have been recognised as the national lead police force for fraud and are responsible for fraud investigations within the square mile as well as having a remit to investigate offences that have been committed across the UK. NLF Fraud Operations consists of four operational teams which focus on our main high harm offences; Investment, Courier, Romance and Payment Diversion Fraud. The focus is on dismantling organised crime networks that target people across the UK, returning the proceeds of crime to victims and raising public awareness of major crime threats.
The opportunity has arisen to offer a development opportunity to CoLP's internal staff in providing administrative support to the National Lead Force, Fraud Operations Teams. This is to cover maternity leave and is expected to be a 12-month minimum contract.
About The Role: The post will ensure effective service delivery against the Home Office National Fraud Strategy and City of London Police's plan and values. The post holder will assist in maintaining the effective operation of fraud teams including the monitoring, processing and recording of budgetary information to assist informed management decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all administrative procedures by ensuring that the fraud teams operate efficiently and Police Officers and Support Staff comply with administrative requirements.
- Provide accurate quarterly reports to finance on the expenditure of the fraud teams, representing the fraud teams at finance and budgetary meetings.
- Deal promptly with invoices, collating and estimating expenditure to manage the day-to-day budget for the unit.
- Evaluate and continually review systems and procedures within the department to ensure that changes in legislation, practice and police procedures are incorporated.
- Ensure the integrity of all data systems by ensuring information recorded is correct and complies with organisational policy and relevant legislation and review relevant records following established criteria.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders and monitor the effectiveness and quality of service against agreed terms and conditions.
