Statement of expectation for the role: 18 month tenure period. Applications are invited from qualified Detective Constables who wish to be considered for the post of investigator in the CID.
Vetting level required: RV/CTC (internal officers may be required to undertake a vetting check before moving to the role)

Salary: According to National Pay Scales plus allowances
Description of Department: You will form part of a team that is responsible for the force's response to serious and complex crime. This is an exciting and busy role. You will be a core member of a CID table, working alongside other qualified detectives and running investigations under supervision of your Detective Sergeant. There is no role in Policing that allows you to more directly deliver justice to victims and to bring the most serious offenders to justice than frontline CID in a busy City. You will investigate, interview, charge remand and deal with witnesses. You will have live investigations and deal with prisoners. You will be supported to develop your skills and after working an 18 month tenure you will be able to apply for other roles in the City of London Police which has a wide array of departments including being National Lead Force for Fraud.
