Business Analyst role in the Change Portfolio Office, Corporate Services Directorate at the City of London Corporation. This fixed‑term contract (until 5 February 2028) involves analysing and formulating proposals to support national initiatives and organisational change.
Location: Guildhall Yard East, London (Hybrid – 60% office attendance). Salary: Starting £42,220 + £6,920 London weighting.
The Change Portfolio Office oversees programmes, projects and change initiatives across City of London Police, focusing on organisational design, technology advances and national projects. Business Analysts work in multidisciplinary teams to analyse new or existing programmes or projects, including internal changes driven by the Change Portfolio Office.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a range of customers to identify requirements using appropriate tools and techniques, including interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, case studies, scenarios, business and statistical analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, translating both high‑level and low‑level information into formats that inform business decisions.
- Distinguish user requests from underlying business needs.
- Interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Use plain English to translate customer technical and business requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to analyse information needs and functional requirements to deliver documentation that sets out customer requirements for delivering a specific set of outcomes.
- Develop and evaluate options papers and feasibility studies across a variety of topics.
- Undertake cost‑benefit analysis of options and prepare fully costed business cases.
Requirements:
- IIBA Foundation qualification or equivalent, or relevant experience.
- Proficiency with a range of business analysis tools and methods.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver workshops, events, and talks.
Eligibility: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, continuous UK residence for the last five years, and meet MV/SC vetting requirements.
