The sixth form at City of London School for Girls is an inspiring and intellectually ambitious environment, where students embrace leadership, scholarship and independence. Widely described by pupils as the most exciting period of their school journey, our sixth form plays a central role in shaping the culture, values and academic aspirations of the school.
We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Director of Sixth Form, a prestigious and influential post with responsibility for the academic and personal development and wellbeing of students in years 12 and 13. The sixth form is definitive to the school's culture, and the Sixth Form Centre, currently in the iconic old Museum of London building, a minute from the main school site, ensures that the sixth form has its own identity, as a key step towards university, apart, but a part of the main school.
The director of sixth form will lead an experienced team of heads of year and tutors, and work very closely with the director of higher education and the Futures team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students. They will join a highly experienced Senior Management Team and lead a thriving, high performing sixth form as it enters the next exciting stage of its development.
Applications are invited from candidates with substantial experience in academically selective settings, outstanding pastoral instincts, and a deep understanding of the demands of top-tier higher education pathways in the UK and internationally. Applicants should be able to teach their chosen subject to A level and will have a 15 period remission.
