The City Remembrancer’s Office is responsible for organising events at the historic Guildhall in the heart of the Square Mile. The team organises each year a remarkable range of events at Guildhall, from lectures by political and business leaders to the commemoration of notable anniversaries and banquets for visiting Heads of State. The Lord Mayor’s Banquet each year is one of the event highlights.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with excellent administrative and communication skills to be the Senior Event Manager (Ceremonial).
The main duties of this post are the management and detailed organisation of City Corporation hospitality, with a view to furthering the City’s objectives for each event. This will involve liaising with City Corporation Members and staff, Government Departments and agencies, and numerous contractors and suppliers.
The post is to provide cover while there is maternity leave in the team. It will offer the opportunity to experience some of the most prestigious national events and make a vital contribution to their successful delivery. The post would suit someone with previous event experience, who is dedicated, reliable and discreet. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise a diverse and heavy workload and work flexibly. High quality written and oral communication skills, strengths as a team player, excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy are essential.
