City of Glasgow College is recruiting Engineering Workshop Technicians to join our Technician Team. In this role, you will maintain and repair equipment and machinery, fabricate components, diagnose faults, machine precision parts, and assist with STEM set-ups. This position offers variety and the opportunity to develop high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair equipment and machinery in the workshop.
  • Fabricate components and assist with machining operations.
  • Diagnose faults and contribute to STEM set-ups.
  • Operate machining equipment confidently and accurately.
  • Support health and safety practices and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Maintain PPM records and SDS & COSHH folders as part of IT and documentation responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant engineering qualification, such as a recognised apprenticeship, HNC/SVQ Level 3, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in a workshop, maintenance, or engineering technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems; competency in welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to operate machining equipment confidently and accurately.
  • Desirable experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Proven IT skills, including documentation and record-keeping related to maintenance and safety.
