The Class Teacher (Transition) will support the implementation of City of Edinburgh Council Attainment work, focusing on effective Literacy, Numeracy, and Health and Wellbeing learning, as well as curricular transition across education establishments. This role emphasizes closing the poverty-related attainment gap while raising overall attainment. The teacher will work with P5 - S3 pupils.
Applicants should have knowledge of current theories and practices related to effective classroom teaching and be able to implement them successfully, aligning with school, Council, and National Priorities. The Class Teacher (Transition) will undertake duties outlined for all teachers as set out in 'A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century'.
Salaries will follow the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education. This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join or update the PVG Scheme and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if they have spent over 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years. Employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
