Granton Early Years is a large, busy setting, with capacity for 64 children at any one time, attending various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, 52 weeks per year. We work in partnership with our families to promote children's learning and development; helping to close the attainment gap and ensure equity for all.

As we continue to develop our service, our setting is a very natural environment with outdoor spaces that back onto the local Community Garden, with the Community Centre situated next door. We encourage our team to strive for high standards with support and development opportunities available at all levels.

We are now recruiting an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children to be confident, capable individuals and helping them to achieve their full potential. Our practitioners will be highly skilled at enhancing children's learning and development, understand their role in supporting children to lead their own learning and will be enthusiastic about creating meaningful experiences and spaces.

They will be an effective team member who contributes to the ethos and values of our setting through good communication and professional discussion, using their training and knowledge to demonstrate their enthusiasm for Early Years.

The successful candidate will be required to work shift patterns within the setting, between the hours of 07.45hrs and 18.00hrs, Monday-Friday, with some late shifts on rotation, within each month.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
