Pupil Support Officer
Canal View Primary School, Wester Hailes.
Salary: £30,188 – £34,452 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional)
Hours: 29.75 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:45 am – 3:45 pm, Friday 8:45 am – 12:30 pm.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the school team and help pupils meet their educational, care and welfare needs. The role focuses on supporting pupils with intensive, complex or high language support needs, ensuring they can effectively access the curriculum. The successful candidate will work directly with parents to provide advice and feedback on matters concerning their child, and must be flexible, delivering support and assistance in the day‑to‑day operations of the school as directed by the leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the school team to support pupils\’ educational, care and welfare needs.
- Assist pupils with intensive, complex and/or high language support requirements to access the curriculum effectively.
- Provide advice and feedback to parents on matters relating to their child.
- Offer flexible support and assistance with the day‑to‑day operations of the school as directed by the leadership team.
Requirements
- Candidate must be suitable for the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
- An unconditional offer will be contingent on satisfactory outcomes of the above pre‑employment checks.
