We are seeking a Principal Teacher 2 to join the leadership team at Colinton Primary School and deputise in the absence of the Headteacher. We are looking for an experienced practitioner with strong second-level expertise who will have a teaching commitment within P5, P6 or P7. The successful candidate will take a lead role in Digital Learning, Assessment and Tracking, and P7-S1 Transition, in addition to fulfilling the standard City of Edinburgh Council Principal Teacher remit.

Colinton Primary is a vibrant and inclusive school located in the south-west of Edinburgh. The Principal Teacher will play a key role in nurturing this ethos while driving high-quality learning and teaching across the upper school.
The catchment includes both Dreghorn and Redford Barracks with many military children attending the school, which means we have a very transient school roll. There are currently seven primary classes and one nursery class of 20 children.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
