Locality Facilities Technician - fixed term for 6 months

North West Area

Salary: £27,257 - £29,850

Hours: 36 per week

Split shift Wk 1 - 7am - 3pm and Wk 2 - 1pm - 9pm (rotating weeks)

A driving licence is required & a work vehicle will be provided.

As a Locality Facilities Technician with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital janitorial service across our estate to ensure our properties are safe places to work or learn in. As part of our team, you will be valued and respected with a key focus on training and development. We are looking for a Mobile Facilities Technician to join our team to work across the North West of Edinburgh.

MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES

You will undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, ranging from small repairs and general maintenance to reactive cleaning, supporting moves and conducting basic security functions.

The successful candidate will undertake all duties relating to the operation, security, & maintenance of various buildings & surrounding grounds ensuring facilities & equipment are set up for users, reactive cleaning, portaging duties & litter picking duties. You will receive all the training required to carry out the janitorial function.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
